Wildflower 2006 Update
May 2, 2006
by Tim Sheeper
In this edition:

Camp Site

New team member Rick Crowley and Sherry Smith are already down at Wildflower and have secured our camping spots for this weekend.  We are at the same site as the previous two years.  That is Harris Creek-A Loop for the Wildflower-Virgins (consult a map when you enter the park).  We choose this spot because it is the most quiet and most remote spot we can find on the lake.  It is 2.5 miles into the run at the top of the first major hill of the course.

Potluck Dinners

From experience we have found that organizing a potluck is the most efficient way to eat at the camp site.  There always seem to be an abundance of great food choices.

Last Name Food
A-F Salad/Bread/Fruit/Vegetables
G-L Pasta/Rice/Potato Dish
M-R Main Dish/Chicken/Beef/Fish
S-Z Drinks/Desserts

Bring enough to feed 6 people.
Plates, cups, napkins, etc will be provided.
We will do this both Friday and Saturday Night.
We will start Dinner by 5PM each night
We will have a brief team meeting following dinner each night about 6PM.

Race Strategy Meeting

It is team tradition to have a "skull session" the night before every race. Anything could happen at these meetings.  The goal is to put everyone in the right frame of mind to enjoy the whole experience and get a positive perspective on the whole thing.  These sessions will follow dinner each night around 6PM.

Relax and Enjoy the Exercise

Do not TRAIN this week.  Just enjoy exercising.  Save up all your energy and motivation for your race day adventure.  The worst that could happen is that you could go into the race feeling real fresh.
