Grinder-Orbit

The last grinder of 2009 is coming up this Saturday November 7.  Grinder #4 is Bohlman Road and On Orbit.  A rather catchy name for a challenging little climb through the neighborhoods of the Santa Cruz Mountains.  The entire ride is 75 miles leaving from Burgess.  The general route is Foothill-Highway 9-Saratoga/Los Gatos Road-Bohlman-Orbit-Black-Skyline-84-Burgess. Remember all you have to do is complete 3 of the 4 grinders to be eligible for the team grinder award (Osmond lobbied for only 3 and won).  Mike Osmond will be sagging the ride again.

2010 Triathlon Schedule

Hawaii 70.3
Miami 70.3
Ironman Arizona

Thank you to all those who responded to the survey regarding focus races in 2010.  It appears that the proposed races, Hawaii 70.3 in June and  Miami 70.3 in October, have received more than enough interest by team members to  justify their selections as Season One and Season Two destination focus events.

There has also been strong interest in Ironman Arizona for November 2010.  If you plan on doing the race, or are just thinking about doing the race there is still plenty of time to register.  In fact, registration has not even opened yet.  The event will sell out; the unknown is how long that will take.   Anyone interested in this race must know that registration will open online Monday, November 23 at 12.00 pm. Make your decision between now and then and then be prepared on the day.

At the present we have 12 athletes who are committed to racing and I am certain that more will join in as the time draws near.  Our team has a great deal of experience taking large contingents of athletes to Ironman races with much success.

A new and improved Ironman team training program will put in place this year to assist everyone in achieving their Ironman goal.  The program will begin the first week in August 2010.
