2. AquaBike Half or Full-Aug 4
3. Folsom Olympic-Team Scored Event-Aug 12

Vineman 70.3

The Vineman 70.3 is approaching on Sunday July 22.  This will be a team focus event as we will have over a dozen athletes taking part.  Our weekend and evening workouts will be geared towards this event for the next two weeks.

Vineman Aqua Bike

Due to a high participation rate, this has become a spur of the moment event for the team.  The Aqua Bike on August 4, 2007 is an event consisting of swimming and cycling.  The race takes place 2 weeks after the Vineman 70.3 at the same venue in the Russian River area.  This is great for the athletes preparing for an upcoming Ironman since the run does not need to be endured.  Also athletes with Ironman aspirations could get a little taste of the beast.  There are 4 race options on the day.
1. Full Aqua Bike-2.4 swim, 112 bike
2. Half Aqua Bike-1.2 swim, 56 bike
3. Vineman-2.4 swim, 112 Bike, 26.2 run
4. Barb's Race-Women's only Half Ironman

Race spots are still available.  Just go to www.vineman.com

Roz Savage

Do you remember the lady who came and spoke to our group about rowing solo across the Atlantic?  Well, she is embarking on her multi-year adventure to be the first women to ever row across the Pacific Ocean.  She leaves from the Presidio Yacht Club in San Francisco on Tuesday July 10 at noon.  I will give periodic updates on her progress.

Endurance Performance Training Centers

Endurance as they are known, is opening a second location in San Francisco this week.  They are taking their successful model of physiologically testing individuals and then producing training programs as well as offering stationary bike training sessions based on personal wattage information.  This highly motivated group of professionals including physiologists and coaches can give athletes that elusive edge needed when attempting to optimize personal potential.  Talk to Kelly Couch about her training and testing with the Endurance organization, or their contact information is as follows:

Michelle Santilhano

What an incredible endurance athlete.  Michelle is a newer member of our team originally hailing from South Africa.  Michelle pulled off an amazing double last weekend that may never be duplicated again.

First, on Sunday June 24, she completed the Western States 100 mile running race in 29 hours.  Then, 6 days later she completed a marathon.  By the way that was a marathon swim in New York State.  She swam 18 miles across St. George Lake into a 30 mph gale.

Did I mention she showed up to morning swim workout the day after Western States and that she was just accepted into the 2007 Ultraman.

What have you done lately?
