Fearsome Tri

Tomorrow Tuesday April 22, 8:30am will be the final Fearsome Tri and the final step of the Fearsome Foursome.  More brave individuals will take on the rough, rugged and remote terrain of Portola State Park.  Redwood forests, ravines and creeks await these weekday adventurers.  If you are interested in doing it the first time or the second, be sure to pack in fluids and calories for a 5 hour multisport trek.  We also need a person interested in supporting the team and watching the bikes as the team runs.  All runners will be limited to 2 hours on the 6-7 mile course.  Road bikes OR mountain bikes can be used for this event.

6:45-8:45-Swim meet

RAAM Team Host Saturday Brunch

The 2008 Race Across America Team consisting of Sally Phillips, Joel Phillips, Michele Santilhano and Rafael will host a team brunch after the swim meet and team ride this Saturday at noon on the picnic tables next to the parking lot where we begin and end our bike sessions.

The RAAM team, named Team H4, would like to better inform the members of our team on the event and the cause they are riding for, Peninsula Habitat for Humanity.

You are invited to enjoy some post ride food and informally learn about H4's 3000 mile relay ride across the country that begins on June 11 in Oceanside California and ends in Annapolis Maryland on June 20, 2008

Wildflower Tent Drop Off

The Woodstock of triathlons is just 12 days away.  As most of you know the camping gets pretty crowded with most camping spots filled by Thursday. Cindy Welton and Mike Osmond have volunteered to travel to Wildflower on Tuesday April 29 to secure enough camping sites for all of us to camp together and ensure some sort of peace and quiet on a busy weekend.

If you are camping on Friday or Saturday night before the races, you are encouraged to drop off your tent in my office before Monday April 28, so that Cindy and Mike could set up the tents securing spots for the team.  Just stick some duct tape on your tent bag and write your last name on it and leave it in my office and it will magically appear fully set up at Wildlfower.

Wildflower Waterskiing and Wakeboarding

Veteran team member Eduardo Llach, is interested in bringing his boat to Wildflower with the desire of waterskiing and wakeboarding with team members.  Whether you are experienced or a rank beginner it does not matter.  Eduardo is keen to take on everybody who has some desire.  The following is a note from Eduardo with a RSVP request at the end of the message.

Dear fellow Wildflower Team Sheeper Triathletes,

I have a fun ski boat that we could enjoy at Lake San Antonio during the Wildflower weekend.   I am trying to understand the interest in doing some boating, water skiing or wakeboarding during the weekend.

I know that as a fellow Wildflower athlete, I am focused on the race, but that doesn't take away from the fact that we are doing this to have fun!

If you are interested in doing some boating, water skiing or wakeboarding, please let me know.  Include the times / dates you would be interested in going out on the boat.  Lake San Antonio allows boating and it is large enough that we can go away from where the swimming leg is taking place.

If there is enough interest, I'll bring my boat and take people out on Friday afternoon and Saturday during the day.   I'm racing on Sunday and will take people out on Sunday mid afternoon before packing it up and taking the boat back.

I will gladly teach anyone how to water ski or wake board.

If you are a pro at either, this is a very nice boat to be pulled by...   I do have equipment to fit most people and levels of water skiing...

Let me know if you are interested...

Thanks, Eduardo
